The local community of Dernbach (Westerwald) is located in the Nassau Nature Park near the wooded Montabaurer Höhe. Especially interesting is the four-hundred-year mining history of the village, which you can get to know on a tour of the village. There are also various schools and educational institutions as well as a hospital. There are charming shops in the town centre and the surrounding area as well as numerous shopping facilities for daily needs. Thanks to its convenient location at the Dernbach motorway junction, the A3 and A48 federal motorways can be reached in just a few minutes. Dernbach (Westerwald) has a train station with connection to the Unterwesterwaldbahn.

Since the canonisation of Saint Catherine Kasper in 2018, the town has enjoyed a strong upwind.
